What’s a fuse board?
A fuse board, also called a consumer unit, is the box containing the switches or fuses for your electrical circuits. It is often near your electricity meter.

Each photo shows one fuse board. The individual switches or fuses inside it control separate circuits—they do not count as separate boards.
Most homes have one fuse board, but some have additional boards for an extension, garage or outbuilding. Count each separate board when making your selection.
